Disney Princess hairstyles are beautiful. This is part of my “Best Disney Princess” series. The perfect costume or makeup isn’t complete without the hairstyle. These are perfect for kids who want to be a princess anytime! They are great for teens and adults, too!
Disney Princess Inspired Hairstyles
Here are the best Disney Princess Inspired Hairstyles for each of the princesses.
For the makeup that works for all ages and kids’ costumes to go with each of these hairstyles, see my post The Best Disney Princess Inspired Costumes and Makeup for Kids!
Cinderella (from the Movie Cinderella) Hairstyle
Such a pretty and traditional looking Cinderella updo.
Belle (from the Movie Beauty and the Beast) Hairstyle
This is perfect for the classic Belle hairstyle.
Rapunzel (from the Movie Tangled) Hairstyles
This Rapunzel hairstyle is trickier to do, but what I feel is closest to the Disney movie Rapunzel hairstyle she wears most of the time.
This pretty Rapunzel hairstyle is an easier version that is similar to the flowered braid Rapunzel wore.
The thicker section of this braid is very neat. You may be surprised as to how it’s achieved.
Snow White (from the Movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) Hairstyle
This is the most realistic looking Snow White hairstyle tutorial. Skip to 3:27 for the hairstyle part of this video.
Ariel (from the Movie The Little Mermaid) Hairstyle
The voluminous red hair, side part bang, and starfish hair accessory make this gorgeous Ariel hairstyle.
Mulan (from the Movie Mulan) Hairstyle
For Mulan’s top knot/bun, there weren’t any specific Mulan hair videos that were great. This top knot could be done with a center part, looser around the hairline, and a ribbon or hair accessory around the bun to create hair like Mulan’s when her hair is up.
For the straight Mulan hairstyle, skip to 5:08 in the video. I wish the lighting were better in the video, but it’s a pretty straight-forward hairstyle.
Aurora (from the Movie Sleeping Beauty) Hairstyle
This tutorial is great for achieving the classic Disney Princess Aurora look. These two hairstyles go together even though it says Ariel as well. You can skip Ariel’s bangs from 0:36 to 0:52 and 5:16 to 5:56. The rest of the tutorial is applicable for Aurora’s hairstyle.
If you’re looking for the more etherial Aurora look from the movie Maleficent, this is the hairstyle to go for.
Jasmine (from the Movie Aladdin) Hairstyle
This Jasmine hairstyle is easy to do and looks absolutely in character.
Pocahontas (from the Movie Pocahontas) Hairstyle
For the Pocahontas hairstyle, straighten hair, then skip to 3:48 in the video to see the Pocahontas look.
Tiana (from the Movie The Princess and the Frog) Hairstyle
This tutorial shows an easy way to do the beautiful Tiana updo with coarser hair.
For fine hair, this tutorial shows an simple way to do the Tiana hairstyle.
Merida (from the Movie Brave) Hairstyle
This Merida hairstyle looks just like the movie. This is a simple hairstyle that just takes a bit of time. You can do it no matter their hair color, too.
Expected to Join Disney Princesses
Princess Elsa and Princess Anna are not yet considered in the group of Disney Princesses. However, they are expected to be joining the Disney Princesses in the future. Either way, Princess Elsa and Princess Anna from Frozen are so popular and such fun looks to recreate!
Elsa (from the Movie Frozen) Hairstyle
This is a beautiful Elsa braid that’s fairly easy to do as long as you feel comfortable with French braids.
I feel this braid is the best Elsa braid. It’s so gorgeous, thick, and long.
For the Elsa Coronation updo, this is the best tutorial. So pretty.
Anna (from the Movie Frozen) Hairstyle
This is a lovely Anna Coronation hairstyle.
This is a fun and extremely simple hairstyle that Anna wears a lot during the movie. See 4:43 to go straight to the hair tutorial in this video.
