If you’re wanting to fit in workouts once you’ve been cleared by your doctor yet your baby is still very young, using a topponcino is wonderful! From the later newborn weeks to the end of first few months of life, a topponcino can be used to have your baby right next to you while you workout, whether he or she is awake or asleep.

USING A Topponcino
A couple of the wonderful things about topponcinos are they’re extremely portable, and they’re a comfortable place for your baby to sleep or play.
My baby boy, Caleb, has slept on his topponcino many times while I worked out. Caleb has also focused on Montessori baby images or moved his body while lying on his topponcino. These are all great things that are helpful for your baby’s development.
In addition, to our home gym, we have used Caleb’s topponcino a lot at various places around the house and especially downstairs in our living room where we love the Montessori newborn baby space.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
With these amazing items, you have a wonderful learning and movement center for your baby that can easily be moved where you need it:
You only need these two items to have an incredible, portable play and nap place that can help you fit in your workouts and so much more:
Organic Cotton Topponcino Covers, Eyelet Cotton Topponcino Covers, or More Topponcino Covers
If you’re wanting a longer topponcino or a wool-filled topponcino, this is a good option.
HOW TO USE THE TOPPONCINO
Place your baby on his or her back on the topponcino. If your baby is sleeping or falls asleep, begin your workout and keep and eye on your baby. If your baby is awake, you could place some Montessori baby images where your baby can see them for some focused work time / play time. Your baby may also enjoy moving and wiggling on the topponcino.
To help your baby develop concentration, it is best to let your baby focus and not to interrupt once he or she begins to concentrate. This is a Montessori principle to help your child develop concentration. Make sure to keep an eye on your baby to make sure your baby’s safe, though.
THINGS TO BE AWARE OF
- Leave plenty of extra space between you and your baby when you’re working out. You don’t want to risk tripping near him or her.
- As with any baby item, make sure to be with your baby and monitor your baby while he or she is using the topponcino.
- You should be able to use the topponcino until your child outgrows the topponcino. Use your own discretion as to when is the best time for your baby to start or stop using the topponcino.
