Do you want your baby really close to you while you work out? Does your baby love to be held? Does your baby need a nap? Using a baby carrier with your baby during your workout means you can have your baby right next to your body, your arms are free, and your baby might take a nap if he or she needs one!

BABY WEARING USING A BABY CARRIER
Baby wearing has so many advantages and benefits for you and your baby! Most likely, your baby loves to be close to you and he or she loves to be held! Baby wearing using a baby carrier means your baby gets the closeness you both desire. Plus, it feels like you are holding your baby but your arms are free.
My baby boy, Caleb, has enjoyed being awake and looking around while I wore him during a workout. Caleb has also slept soundly while I worked out while wearing him. In the same way, he loves to look around and focus if I go for a walk with him in his baby carrier. Then after a while of focusing he will usually take a nap while I continue to wear him during a walk.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
I love using the Baby K’tan Baby Carrier to wear my baby boy during workouts, on walks, around the house, and when we go out. I love that this baby carrier is only fabric, has no potentially toxic foam, is easy to put on, and is simple to put your baby in!
There’s even an organic cotton Baby K’tan Baby Carrier. I wouldn’t recommend the organic cotton version for working out, though, because it isn’t as breathable, and you and your baby can get warm while wearing it.
For working out, this is the baby carrier my husband and I use. I have the coral color and my husband has the ocean blue.
HOW TO USE THE BABY CARRIER
If you’re breastfeeding, put on your nursing sports bra so you’re ready if your baby gets hungry. Then put on workout clothes that can breathe well. Dress your baby so he or she will be at a good temperature even when you and possibly he or she warms up. Speak with your pediatrician to find out what your pediatrician recommends.
Put your baby carrier on, following the instructions for your baby carrier. Put your baby in the baby carrier according to the instructions for your baby carrier.
Wear your baby while you do a workout that is safe for your baby.
THINGS TO BE AWARE OF
- Keep hold of your baby if you lean forward or lean over even when he or she is in the carrier.
- Make sure you have lots of clear, open space around you to work out in. You don’t want to risk tripping over something.
- I recommend checking very regularly to make sure your baby doesn’t have any fabric covering or near his or her nose.
- Make sure your baby is in good alignment, especially head alignment, according to your baby carrier’s instructions.
- Follow your baby carrier’s safety instructions.
- Follow your pediatrician’s advice for wearing your baby in a baby carrier and working out with your baby in a baby carrier.
